More From The Sports Junkies

All-Pro defensive back Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks is confident in his abilities on and off the field.

So much so, he has no problem letting you know what he thinks of you, especially if your name is Skip Bayless.

In an appearance on First Take, Sherman  – who Redskins fans may remember best as the guy who got in Trent William’s face after the Skins-Hawks playoff game – made it abundantly clear he doesn’t have a lot of love for the perennial pot-stirrer Bayless.

He emphasized as much Thursday with words like “I’m better at life than you” and “you are an ignorant, pompous, egotistical cretin.”

Analyze Sherman’s attack how you will, which we’ll get to in a moment, but there’s one distinct quality that these two men share: the propensity for getting under people’s skin.

Everyone reading this post should be well familiar with Bayless’ resume at this point. He trolls an entire nation of sports fans daily.

As mentioned above, there was the Williams incident, which may have left a bad taste in Redskins fans’ mouths as it coincided with their team’s exit from the playoffs.

More recently, there was his Twitter beef with Darrelle Revis – who is widely regarded as the best corner in the league – in which Sherman proclaimed himself better than his defensive counterpart with the quote “Women lie, men lie, numbers don’t lie,” sparking a volatile exchange of tweets. Sherman came out on top by the way.

Then there was the time he trash-talked the league’s best quarterback to his face. After Seattle upset New England in Week 6 of the 2012 NFL season, Sherman met Tom Brady on the field to give him an earful, then tweeted a screen-capture of their rendezvous following the game with the caption “You Mad Bro?” which sent the Twittersphere into a frenzy.

And to bring things full circle, there was yesterday, in which Sherman took his First Take appearance as an open invitation to verbally lambast one of its hosts.

“Whenever you refer to me, whenever you speak to me, whenever you address me, address me as All-Pro Stanford graduate because those are some accomplishments you will aspire to but never accomplish,” Sherman told Bayless on the program. “You have never accomplished anything.”

While the intent was clearly there, Sherman’s apparent lack of rhythm made his words come off as transparently premeditated at best.

“I don’t really care about Richard Sherman, I mean I couldn’t care less, but he’s basically a professional troll too right?” EB of the Junkies posited on 106.7 The Fan Thursday. “He’s a trash-talker on the field.”

“I didn’t like him in this interview at all and I’m one of his biggest fans. Normally he’s funny and he’s outgoing with it,” Drab returned. “It was just uncomfortable and I actually like the way Skip can take a beating.”

Now, how do you feel about the cornerback going on the offensive from the jump?

Did his weak delivery usurp the epic potential of his troll vs. troll shot at Skip Bayless?

Hopefully the NFL will do something about it.

Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman gets final word with Tom Brady

Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman gets final word with Tom Brady Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman gets final word with Tom Brady There was a lot of trash talking during yesterday’s Patriots-Seahawks game. After claiming a 24-23 comeback win, Seattle’s Richard Sherman made sure to get the final word. According to Sherman, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady told Seattle’s defensive backs to “see him after the game when they win.” The Patriots didn’t win, but Sherman was sure to find Brady after the game. Sherman posted a photo on his Twitter account (left) that showed him taunting Brady as the QB walked off the field. Sherman, who had one of Seattle’s two interceptions, captioned the photo “U mad bro?” Sherman has since deleted the tweet, although another photo of a dejected Brady walking off the field remains on his timeline. That tweet reads, “Brady sure looks like a man who turned the 12th man against us,” a reference to a comment Brady made earlier in the week about silencing Seattle’s notoriously loud home crowd. “Any time you run a gimmick offense, you’re a little bit afraid — you’re not sound in what you’re doing in your

Seahawks? » With injuries to their best pass-rusher and their only kicker in Sunday’s playoff victory over the Redskins, the Seahawks may make some big roster moves this week before heading to Atlanta for their second-round matchup. Defensive end Chris Clemons went down in the third quarter Sunday with an apparent leg injury and seems to be done for the season. According to multiple reports, the Seahawks fear that Clemons, who leads the team with 11.5 sacks this season, may have a torn ACL in his knee. Clemons’ agent blamed, in part, the “crappy” playing surface at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. As of Monday morning, the team was still waiting for results of an MRI on Clemons’ leg, head coach Pete Carroll told 710 ESPN Seattle’s “Brock and Salk” show. Carroll said the Seahawks are “re

Eagles add James Casey - james casey

Eagles add James Casey - james casey ProFootballTalk Eagles add James Casey It’s not quite the Dream Team.  But it’s a team.  And they have a dream.  And they have new players. The Eagles have announced that tight end James Casey has agreed to terms.  It’s a three-year deal. The fifth-round pick in 2009 has been extremely versatile for the Texans, lining up in different places and providing a potent complement to tight end Owen Daniels. He had a career-high 330 receiving yards in 2012.  For his career, Casey averages 11.4 yards per catch. I was cracking up. As an Eagles fan I’m really tired of hearing about the “Dream Team”, however, that was clever. Good stuff man. Ugh. I think this is yet another Texan we’ll watch blossom in another city. Solid run blocker at the TE position. Not a great pass catcher, but we got Celek in that rol
